TrendViper Update – Version 3.0

TrendViper trend indicator update

Our flagship trend-following indicator was updated to version 3.0. In this new version two new options were added.

These options do not change any calculations within the indicator, but they help with visual representation of the trend indicator.

The first major improvement is the possibility to view the Moving Averages and their crossovers as a single color-changing trend line.

As seen in the picture below, instead of seeing two separate moving averages (slow MA and fast MA) and their crossovers, we only see a single trend line, the slow MA.

The slow Moving Average changes color when it is crossed by the fast Moving Average.

When the line is red, it signifies that the fast MA crossed the slow MA in a downtrend. When it is green it means the fast MA crossed the slow MA in an uptrend. Here is another example.

trend indicator with a single line

In order to make the change to a single line crossover go to the indicator’s settings and change the Show Lines option to Crossovers

Modification of TrendViper settings
Choose Crossovers to see a single trend line

You can also get rid of the trend line by selecting None. This will remove the Moving Average lines from your screen but the UP / DOWN signals will still be visible on your charts.

You can also modify the width of the single trend line by going into the indicator’s settings, choosing the Colors tab and modifying the Width of lines 2 and 3.

Obviously, here you can also modify the Color if you need to.

The second, much awaited modification to our no-repaint trend indicator is the possibility to change the text color of the Visual Smart Display.

For those who prefer to use the indicator on a white background this update will be a welcome addition. It will allow you to change the color of all the text of the Visual Display.

Here are examples of how it can look on dark and light templates:

To change the text color to suit your chart template simply go to the TrendViper settings, scroll to the very bottom to the Text Color option and click on the actual color square.

Here is a screenshot of the settings window,

Once you click on the color square this will open up a window with different color options, as seen below:

Simply choose from available colors and close the settings window. The color of text of the Smart Display will be changed.

Although those two TrendViper modifications are not major, they will improve the usability. This trend indicator can now be customized to literally work with any system and any chart template.
